Since 2005, Omoto only left Sharks briefly in 2013 and 2014 when he joined 12-time Kenyan champions AFC Leopards and coastal based Bandari FC both on one year loan deals before returning to the club till the time he put an end to it all.
“Dear Kariobangi Sharks, how do I express myself? First, I would like to express how much of a privilege it has been to play for this great club. Since making my debut in 2005 it has been a journey any Sharks lad could wish for.
I would like to thank everyone involved with the club for making Sharks one of the best clubs around. A very big thank you to every coach I have played under for showing trust in me and teaching me all I know,” the player penned.
“I cannot forget the one special person I hold dear to my heart; Mr. Nick (Mwendwa, club owner). The best leader I have ever come across. He was a man that gave the club life, he gave everyone involved in the club belief that we were good enough to compete at the top level. Not only did you give the club everything, but you also gave me everything I needed to become the person I am today on and off the field.

“To all my teammates from my debut to date, thanks for helping me achieve what I did. I wish everyone all the best in future,” the player further wrote.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, the midfield general revealed that it is the desire to seek a new challenge that enhanced his decision in calling time to his near 18 year stint at the club.
“I have played at the club all my life and I thought it was the right moment to just seek a new challenge. That is what made me do it,” he said.
While the midfielder remained tight lipped about his possible destination, he revealed he will carefully survey the offers on his table during this free period before taking the next step.
