Otulo described Sunday's fixture as a must-win encounter, stressing that victory would move the club a step closer to securing promotion and potentially clinching the league title.

Migori Youth head coach Sammy Otulo believes his side holds a significant advantage in the race for promotion to the FKF Premier League, citing their upcoming home clash against fellow promotion contenders Equity as a crucial opportunity to strengthen their bid.

The tactician's confidence is backed by Migori Youth's formidable home record this season.

The Migori-based outfit remains unbeaten at home, having won 14 matches and drawn two. Their impressive haul of 44 points on home soil has played a pivotal role in their push for the National Super League (NSL) title and promotion.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's high-stakes encounter against Equity, Otulo acknowledged the pressure that has defined the promotion race but remained optimistic about his team's chances.

"Every game is difficult. For the last 10 matches, the gap between the top teams has been very small, so every game comes with pressure," said Otulo.

"I think Equity will fight for promotion, 3K will fight for promotion too, and the race for promotion remains very competitive."

The soft-spoken coach noted that facing direct rivals in the closing stages of the season gives Migori Youth an opportunity to determine their own destiny.

"The big advantage is that our next game is against Equity and then another crucial match against 3K. There is pressure, but some teams have already secured promotion. The battle for the number one and number two positions is still on."

Otulo described Sunday's fixture as a must-win encounter, stressing that victory would move the club a step closer to securing promotion and potentially clinching the league title.

"It is going to be a tough match, but this is a must-win tie. We know that winning the match will take us closer to achieving our objective and getting the job done, which is our main focus on Sunday," he told Mozzart Sport.

Migori Youth and Equity are set to lock horns in a potentially season-defining showdown on June 7, with both sides battling for promotion and league honours.

A win for Migori Youth would secure the NSL title and guarantee promotion, while any slip-up could take the title race to the final day of the season.

Otulo has also called on the club's supporters to turn out in large numbers and create a strong atmosphere as the team seeks to complete its mission.

"I urge our fans to come out in large numbers and support the team. The players have shown great commitment. I want to thank everyone for their support over the last 10 matches. The players have worked together as a unit and have continued pushing forward.

Thank you very much for your support throughout this period. We look forward to finishing strongly together."
