The Migori-based team will be back in action following a two-week fixture exemption

National Super League (NSL) side Migori Youth have provided a clean bill of health on their injured players ahead of their encounter with the Michael Olunga Foundation (MOFA) on Sunday 17 November at Raila Odinga Stadium, Homabay.

The Migori-based team will be back in action following a two-week fixture exemption after the van that was ferrying their players was involved in a road accident on Saturday 22 October while on their way to Thika, leaving five of their key players injured.

Consequently, from the road accident, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) postponed Migori's matches against MCF FC, Mombasa Stars and Naivas FC to later dates to provide room for recoveries.

Migori Youth chairman Abdi Aziz Osman revealed that four players have fully recovered save for Kelly Otieno who suffered a setback in his recovery journey.

"We had injuries to five first-team players from the accident, but I am glad to confirm all of them have recuperated and are in a good state of health to resume action, save for Kelly Otieno, who has suffered a slight setback, but he should be available for selection in a week," Osman told Mozzart Sport.

The Migori Youth chairman went on to confirm their return to action after the unexpected accident ordeal.

Currently positioned third from bottom with one win against their name, the team, under the leadership of assistant coach Ken Otieno following Laban Gambareko's exit, will be hoping to register their second win of the season.

"I can confirm we are back in action after the accident. We aim to play the three catch-up matches and most importantly aim at returning to winning ways since we have not had a good start to the season," he continued.

Osman additionally thanked the federation for their kind gesture in postponing their matches.

"I want to sincerely thank the federation for their act of understanding by granting us two weeks to have the team get over the trauma from the accident," he added.
