For the first time in recent Harambee Stars history, a VVIP experience has been introduced, offering premium perks such as secure parking, refreshments, and exclusive networking opportunities

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is set to rake in millions as Harambee Stars make a long-awaited return to home soil for an international match.

The historic 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Gabon, scheduled for Sunday, March 23, at the Nyayo National Stadium, is expected to generate at least Ksh9,100,000 million in ticket sales alone.

Harambee Stars, who play away against The Gambia on Thursday, will return to Nairobi for their first home fixture since 2021.

The national team had been forced to play away from home due to the lack of a FIFA-approved stadium. However, with Nyayo Stadium now cleared to host international matches, fans will finally get the chance to cheer on their team live.

Ticket Pricing & Revenue Projections

According to FKF CEO Harold Ndege, the federation has made 22,900 tickets available across three categories:

Regular (21,000 seats) – Ksh 300 per ticket

VIP (1,800 seats) – Ksh 1,000 per ticket

VVIP (100 seats)– Ksh 10,000 per ticket

For the first time in recent Harambee Stars history, a VVIP experience has been introduced, offering premium perks such as secure parking, refreshments, and exclusive networking opportunities.

“We have a total of 22,900 tickets, and we are looking at making around Ksh 9.1 million from this game,” Ndege stated. “The VVIP category is a new addition that comes with a premium experience, ensuring our top fans and stakeholders enjoy the match in a unique way.”

To avoid last-minute rushes and congestion at the stadium gates, FKF has made all tickets available online only.

Fans can purchase them at tikiti.co.ke or dial shortcode *519*55#. The sale will close on Saturday at 4:00 PM, with no tickets available at the gate.

“The online system helps reduce congestion and security risks. From past experiences, we’ve learned that seamless digital ticketing ensures smooth entry and a better matchday experience for all,” Ndege explained.

Additionally, parking inside the stadium will not be allowed as usual, but a secure alternative parking area will be available for Ksh 300 to minimize theft and security concerns.

Harambee Stars sit fourth in their World Cup qualifying group with five points, while Ivory Coast leads with 10, followed by Gabon (9) and Burundi (7).

The match against Gabon will be crucial, especially as the Panthers boast top-tier players such as ex-Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Kenya’s performance in their Thursday clash against The Gambia will set the tone for this must-win home game.
