Harambee Stars left-back Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma lasted on the pitch up to the final whistle in Rakow Czestochowa’s one-all draw against Puszcza Niepolomice in a Polish top-tier game played at the Stadion Cracovii im. Jozefa Pilsudskiego on Saturday night.
Marcelo who moved to Poland at the start of the year after parting ways with former Swedish champions AIK started on the left wing-back.
Czestochowa took the lead in the 26th minute through Artur Crăciun’s own with the host equalizing at the death through Łukasz Solowiej’s penalty.
Another Stars left-back Vincent Harper was introduced late in the second half I Exeter City’s 2-2 draw against Bolton Wanderers in an English League One game played last night at St. James Park.
Harper came on in the 89th minute for Ryan Woods seconds after Bolton scored their second goal and the equalizer.
Bolton took the lead in the 33rd minute through Edmund Maghoma with Exeter drawing level through Sonny Cox in the 46th minute.
The home side would score their second three minutes later through Cox who was teed up by Luke Harris. Bolton leveled matters in the 88th minute through Eoin Toal.
Harper’s counterpart Clarke Oduor was also in action in Bradford’s 3-0 win against Accrington Stanley in a League 2 match played at the Wham Stadium.
Oduor who was in the starting line up was withdrawn in the 81st minute for James Walker.
Bradford got their goals through Samuel Wright who netted a brace with Andrew Cook adding the third one.
In Hong Kong, striker Ismail Dunga was on target in Sham Shui Po’s 5-1 win over HKU23 in a Sapling Cup group stage match played at the Hill Road Sports Grounds.
In South Africa, Stars centre back Brian Mandela wasn’t included in the Mamelodi Sundowns team that beat Chippa United 2-0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Teboho Mokoena and Tashreeq Mathews were on target for the defending champions.
