Initially slated for June 6–11, the event was postponed to July 7–12 before being pushed again due to logistical challenges.

CECAFA has now confirmed that the competition will take place from July 16 to 20, 2025, in Mombasa, Kenya.

In an official statement shared on CECAFA's social media platforms, Executive Director Auka Gecheo reaffirmed Kenya’s preparedness:

We shall now have the Championship run from July 16–20, 2025, in Mombasa, Kenya.”

The tournament will feature seven nations: CECAFA member associations Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zanzibar, alongside guest teams Seychelles and Malawi.

Kenya has been drawn into Group A alongside Malawi, Burundi, and Zanzibar and will begin their campaign on July 16 against the Islanders.

They will then face Burundi on July 17 before wrapping up their group stage against Malawi.

Group B comprises Tanzania, Uganda, and Seychelles.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for July 19, with the third-place playoff and final set to be held on July 20.

This tournament comes at a time when Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has ramped up efforts to develop beach soccer, including securing a title sponsor for the Kwale Beach Soccer League in May.

Earlier in the year, Kenya’s national beach soccer team, led by team manager Billy Mwangemi, travelled to Uganda for a series of friendly matches aimed at bolstering their preparations.

With improved structures, solid preparation, and home support expected in Mombasa, Kenya will be looking to make a strong impression at the continental showpiece.
