The Portuguese tactician is disinterested in talking about the obvious downfall of Spurs towards the season finale

Jose Mourinho has almost never kept his feet totally on the ground and it is all a part of his charm. But right now, when Tottenham are losing points every single week and succumbing to the fifth spot, one would expect Mourinho will show more humbleness and self-criticism. Well... The Special One doesn't agree on that one.

After a disappointing 2-2 draw at Newcastle, which saw Mourinho's slot failing to kill the game once more when in the lead, the Portuguese coach was once more in his 'don't-look-at-me' mode.

Tottenham have dropped 11 points in the last ten minutes of their games. Asked in the post-match interview about the possible solution to this problem, Mourinho said:

"How to fix that? I cannot tell you, I don't want to tell you. I think it's for me and not for you. It's for me.

"Could we kill the game, yes, we could kill the game. We had one ball in the second half where I don't know why Sonny (Son) tried to assist when I don't know why, he just had to control and score. We had the ball that Harry (Kane) hit the post and we had the ball when Lamela just needs a simple pass to Tanguy and Tanguy was in the face of the goal.

"Yes, we could have killed the game but then you look to also moments of instability and a couple of actions where Newcastle could score and you take also your conclusions but for me, as a coach, it's very, very hard to analyse the game with you. It's very hard for me to do it and it's not for me to do it."

At least, he was willing to admit the draw with Newcastle - the team fighting to avoid the relegation - is not something that can be seen as a successful result.

"It's a bad result. I'm not being disrespectful with Newcastle but I think that is a match to win, so the result is not a good one. And the performance, if I analyse the performance separated from so many mistakes that lead to instability and instability leads to hope in the opposition if I want to analyse separately from that, I think we were good, very good in some moments. A great period in the first half also a solid period in the second, " concluded he.
