Muhammed Badamosi played for the ambitious coach while at FUS Rabat
Everyone who loves the sport of football is admiring the Moroccan performances in the World Cup in Qatar. And while their national team is brimming with quality in all areas, it's their coach Walid Regragui who shaped the squad of good players into a special team - one that reached the last four in the most reputable tournament in the game.
One of the players who got to know Regragui by playing for his team spoke to Mozzart Sport about the French-born coach. Gambian striker Muhammed Badamosi, currently on the books of Serbian Mozzart Bet Superliga club Cukaricki, had a tremendous professional relationship with the Moroccan world-beater.

Now 23, the Gambia international was coached by Regragui early in his career while at FUS Rabat between 2017 and 2020.
"Regragui is a very nice guy and an outstanding coach. He really helped me a lot in my development as a player and as a person. I learned a lot of things from him - especially in terms of tactics."
The whole nation is in a state of euphoria after the highly impressive 1-0 win over Portugal secured the Atlas Lions a place in the semis - making them the first-ever African nation to do so. Badamosi says the Moroccan people deserved to rejoice in such an achievement.
"Moroccans are very nice people, to be honest. They are happy now because they love football a lot. I'm happy for the coach, the team and the whole country. They got some fantastic results, and it's nice that they are doing well at the highest level of football."
According to the former Real Banjul and Olympique Ngor forward, it's Regragui's ability to read the opposition that makes him great at setting up his team tactically.
"He is good in all aspects of football. It just depends on the type of opponent he is playing if it's required for him to play on the counter-attack, he will. If it's the other way round he will adjust too. The game against France will be a tough one. Morocco has nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain. It'll be an interesting match."

Badamosi spent two years playing for KV Kortrijk in Belgium, the country where nearly half a million Moroccans live. He knows very well how much the national team means to them. The giant Gambian congratulated his former coach after the Portugal game and wished him all the luck in the next two games.
"Walid is a busy man these days, so we keep it short. He still found the time to say thank you."
By all accounts, Walid is one of those people who are difficult to dislike. He will enjoy backing from football lovers from around the world.
