Sharks will play KCB in the semifinals of the Mozzart Bet Cup

Kariobangi Sharks tactician William Muluya is confident with the team extending it's recent fine form when they face the struggling Sofapaka this weekend.

Much as Muluya expects a tough duel from the former league champions, he remains certain of bagging maximum points.

"I really respect Sofapaka. They have a very good side which has a mixture of experienced players and young ones. They won the first leg and that makes it even tougher," he said.

Sharks approach the match with caution as the team is not still off the hook yet as far as fight against relegation is concerned.

The 2018 Mozzart Bet Cup winners have made significant steps in beating the drop but Muluya says there is no room for complacency or even underrating any opponent.

"This season is tough as any team from position 10 can be relegated if they aren't watchful. Even Nzoia have a chance to survive if they win their remaining matches and therefore there is no room for complacency," said the Harambee Stars assistant coach.

Pundits have always described Sharks as one of the best when it comes to teams playing attractive football.

At the same time, the team has procured itself criticism for failing to win matches consistently from the loads of chances they create and conceding a lot of goals.

"It was a concern in the first leg where we were creating chances but not scoring but we have since changed that lately and our scoring record is impressive," he revealed.

Sharks have scored 15 league goals in their last 5 games, more than any other team and have scored at least a goal in 9 of their last 10 games in competitions.

One of the reasons for the latest goal scoring form is the arrival of veteran striker Mark Makwata, who hit the ground running for his side after arrival in the mid-season window.

The forward has found the back of the net seven times in the league and twice in the cup.

"He brings in experience and guidance to the younger players. He also has a very good quality and even played internationally but most importantly he has gelled well with the team because his scoring is more of a team work," he praised the former Ulinzi Stars striker.

Further, Muluya has said he has his full mind and attention on the upcoming league matches and is not thinking of the cup semi finals at the moment.

The match will be played at Dandora stadium followed by two matches next week against Muranga Seals and Shabana respectively, games that Muluya has described as important.
