Sofapaka forward says Asswhely are still interested in his services
Sofapaka forward Piston Mutamba is hoping to turn professional in the summer transfer window after narrowly missing a lucrative deal in February 2021.
Mutamba was on the verge of joining Libyan outfit Asswhely SC but the club failed to reach an agreement for his services with his immediate former employer Bidco United.
The towering forward had been unveiled by the club only for Bidco to claim that he had forged his release letter and hence blocking his transfer.
The former Wazito player who returned home after the botched transfer says Asswehly are still hunting his signature and expressed optimism to head to North Africa when the summer player transfer window is open.

The former national U23 Emerging Stars player signed a six-month long contract with Sofapaka after controversially leaving Bidco in February.
"We are still in touch with them. They insist that I am in their plans and hopefully I will join them before the start of the new season. Sofapaka are aware of my plans and I expect to complete the move without any disputes when that time comes," he said.
Mutamba also exuded confidence that more offers will come his way despite the suspension of sporting activities.
The former Kakamega High School alumnus who is currently training by himself said his agent was working overtime to secure him lucrative deals abroad.
"I strongly believe that I will get more offers before the window opens. Asswehly are the only club who are showing interest at the moment but there is hope that clubs especially from abroad will start tabling bids soon," he added.
