Former Thika United midfielder Michael Mutinda has rallied the team to win the title for Zedekiah Zico Otieno.
Combative central midfielder Michael Mutinda believes that KCB players owe head coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title to reward him for his valiant efforts.
Since joining KCB at the start of the 2019-2020 season, Zico has transformed The Bankers a struggling outfit into this season's title challengers. The team only regained top-flight promotion from the National Super League back in 2018.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Mutinda waxed lyrical on Zico, highlighting the qualifications that led to him being trusted with the National Team back in 2010.
“I cannot compare Zico to another coach, I feel that he is very much qualified, our preparations are mostly not on the team or the league we are playing in, he prepares you for international football.”
“His training is super, his passion and how he pushes the team makes him one of the best coaches, so I feel we owe him the league and should not fail him because he has all the qualities to be a great coach and a title champion, we will play our part and try and give him a trophy,” said Mutinda.

Before sporting activities were brought to a halt back towards the end of March, KCB were neck to neck with Tusker at the summit of the league as they trailed Robert Matano's charges by six points.
KCB dropped two crucial points just before the halt in sporting activities against rock bottom Zoo FC as they missed Nahashon Alembi and Dennis Odhiambo in the clash.
“The result was painful but it was not about Zoo being at the bottom, in football, it's about the 11 players that turn up for the game and how they prepare.”
“I don’t think their absence (Alembi and Odhiambo) played a part in us losing because maybe we would have still lost with them, I believe their replacements played their best and anybody who plays can give us three points,” added Mutinda.
