Kenya Police FC head coach Nicholas Muyoti has heaped praise on new signing Yves Koutiama, describing the Burkinabe striker as the missing piece in his attacking puzzle.
The Burkina Faso international proved decisive once again, striking 23 minutes from time to help Police beat Mara Sugar 1-0 at Awendo Green Stadium.

Koutiama latched onto Brian Otieno’s inch-perfect delivery, calmly tapping home from close range to seal a much-needed win for the defending champions.
The result not only secured maximum points, but also brought an end to Police’s six-match winless run in the FKF Premier League.
Kuotiama’s goal marked his third of the season since joining Police during the ongoing mid-season transfer window.
The former USFA Ouagadougou forward, who previously featured in Burkina Faso’s top-flight Fasofoot Ligue 1, announced his arrival emphatically, scoring just two minutes into his debut against Mara Sugar, a match that ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw.
He followed that up with another crucial intervention last week, finding the net in stoppage time to rescue a point against Nairobi United, before once again delivering the decisive moment in Awendo.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport after the match, Muyoti reserved glowing praise for the lanky striker, hailing him as a model professional and the attacking spark Police had been lacking as they pursue a second consecutive FKF-PL title.
“He is superb—now that is what we call a professional. He has been outstanding in his three league outings, giving us the missing spark upfront, and we are glad to have him on board,” said Muyoti.
The Police tactician further highlighted Kuotiama’s intelligent movement and sharp reading of the game, qualities he believes set the forward apart and make him a constant threat inside the penalty area.
“He has come in at a very crucial juncture, and we are lucky to have him. He is exactly what we lacked in attack. I am impressed by his movement and understanding of the game around the box; that is what a proper forward should do, and he has been doing it exceptionally well,” added Muyoti.
