With only seven minutes left on the clock and AFC Leopards looking like a side that would willingly donate points to their returning former head coach Anthony 'Modo' Kimani who is the interim boss at Bandari FC, captain fantastic Marvin Nabwire emerged from the ruins as he struck late to salvage a point for his side as the two sides settled for a 2-2 stalemate after the full regulation time.

All through the league match played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday afternoon, the former player turned coach appeared well on his way to leading his troops to a first victory at the club since 4 January 2022 at the expense of his immediate former employers but Nabwire's late suckerpunch ruined all would-be delight as Bandari's winless run extended to nine games and Modo's wait for a first win continued after his second game in charge.

Harambee Stars' Abdallah 'Starboy' Hassan and his fellow striker Yohanna 'Mbatizaji' Mwita struck two well taken goals in the first half as the coastal based side led at the half time break but could not see out their advantage by the full time whistle.

In that first half, Ingwe youngster Maxwell Otieno had given Ingwe the lifeline with his well struck goal by the interval and Nabwire earned his side a point with the second goal that evened proceedings.

Ingwe head coach Patrick Aussems gave a pat on the back to his players as he admitted that the recent off field troubles and strikes played a part in the game but they gave a brilliant response.

"To be honest with you I am very proud with the guys because it is an extremely complicated situation to perform well with the problems we have had day after day for weeks. It is not easy to get motivation and to be on the pitch with all the problems they are facing. For that I am proud of them," he said.

"They had momentum and they created the better chances in the second half. We tried to play very compact to try and deny them spaces but towards the dying minutes we had a lot of tired legs in the field which allowed them the space that led to the equalizer. We took the lead twice but even though we did not keep it, we will take the point away," Modo remarked.

Following the results, Bandari stayed in eighth position similar to the situation before proceedings of the game as Leopards also maintained their position on 10th where they now sit on 26 points.
