Naby Keita hits the lowest point - officially 'erased' by Werder Bremen

The guy for whom Liverpool once paid €60m is experiencing the most challenging career moments after rejecting a transfer

Naby Keita's career has hit a low. The setback he experienced when leaving Liverpool for Werder Bremen wasn't even terrible compared to the humiliation that awaited him last night as he turned down a transfer.

The club from Bremen wanted to get rid of him at any cost. The last chance was a transfer to Turkey, where the transfer window lasted until the last night. Just before midnight, the Germans made a deal with Hatayspor for Keita. It was important for them to offload the former Reds' midfielder since he earns around 1,300,000 euros per year, which is a substantial figure for Werder.

However, the former Guinea international rejected the move, and the Germans were unpleasantly surprised.

"The agreement existed, we had finished everything... Naby refused to sign at the last moment," said Werder director Peter Niemeier. "For now, we are not planning to hand Keita his resignation. It is a strategic decision".

This means Keita will work separately from the first team and will wait for the moment when his contract will be terminated by the force of law. When he arrived, a clause was inserted that he must play a certain number of games in order for the agreement to be valid until the July 2026. In the meantime, as of last night, the only picture missing from the first team on the official website is his. Coincidence? We don't think so.
