Nairobi City Stars left-back Dennis Wanjala is dreaming of winning the Football Kenya Federation title after reaching a 100 games milestone in the top tier.

On top of that, the left-back is setting his eyes on donning the national team jersey in the future

Decha, as he is commonly known, played his 100th game last weekend when City Stars picked a 2-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks courtesy of goals by Kevin Etemesi and Samuel Kapen with Patrick Ngunyi getting the consolation.

Speaking after his feat, the former Nzoia Sugar man added that he hopes to help push the team to a better finish in the remaining matches of the campaign.

“It pleases me to learn that I have attained game 100 in the Kenyan top flight. I see growth since my days at Nzoia (Sugar) till now at Nairobi City Stars. That motivates me even more and I now wish to go on and lift the Kenyan premier league title soon, and to one day feature for the Kenya national team. In the meantime, it is my desire to push Nairobi City Stars to a much better position. We want to surprise everyone in the closing stages of the current season,” Wanjala said as quoted by the club.

He has already started the journey to the next milestone after featuring in the barren draw against Kakamega Homeboyz in midweek.

While turning out for City Stars since the start of the 2021/2022 FKFPL campaign, he has made 38 appearances for the club having made his debut in September 2021 against Sofapaka.

At Nzoia Sugar, Wanjala made a total of 63 appearances across four seasons.

A poor start to the season by Nairobi City Stars had seen them linger in the relegation zone but that has since changed in the second leg as they continue their march to safety.
