Naibois, as it stands, are three points behind Kenya Police in third, and seven adrift of second-placed AFC Leopards
Nairobi United head coach Godfrey "Solo" Oduor believes his side can finish as high as second, following their big 1-0 victory over Tusker at the Nyayo National Stadium on Wednesday, 6 May.

Oduor, speaking post-match, finally put some detail on his team’s exact target this season, following their unsuccessful defense of the Mozzart Bet Cup.
“Second position is possible,” Oduor said. “All we need to do is commit ourselves; we have four games left - that is 12 points to fight for. We will keep fighting to get there.”
Over the weekend, the former Nzoia Sugar coach, in wake of Nairobi United exiting the cup at the quarter-final stage to KCB, hinted that his side would shift their focus solely on finishing “on a high” in the FKF Premier League.
Hours removed from that disappointment, his words rung true as Naibois, despite making some changes to their usual staring lineup, secured a league double over Tusker, to rise to fourth on the standings, seven points behind second-placed AFC Leopards.
The decisive goal would come courtesy of Rwandese midfielder Muhadjiri Hakizimana in the 18th minute, sealing his team’s third win in a row, and fourth in their last five.
Despite looking as the much inferior side early on, Nairobi United took the lead against the run of play, and later carved decent opportunities, including smacking the upright through Benson Omalla in the 40th minute.
As per stats provided by Azam TV, hosts Naibois ranked superior on possession, shots on target and shots off target, signifying Oduor’s keen approach to the game.
“We came with a plan to mix players with big footballing IQ and others with pace, and they combined well today,” Oduor said. “A player with no pace but with big IQ [Hakizimana] came in and gave us the results.”
With the win, Nairobi United extended their league unbeaten run to eight games, and kept their first league clean sheet since their 3-0 win over Shabana on 5 April.
“Getting a goal and keeping a clean sheet against a team like Tusker is a big kudos to my team,” the coach added.
