The reigning Mozzart Bet Cup champions have been hunting for a substantive head coach since the departure of Muyoti a fortnight ago.

Since Muyoti’s departure, the team has been under the tutelage of Technical Director, Salim Ali, who guided the club to a win and two draws in the three matches he was in charge of.

Oduor joins Naibois from South Sudanese side Jamus FC where he was the assistant coach since 2024 when he joined the club from Shabana FC.

Oduor, first served under former AFC Leopards head coach Cassa Mbungo and went ahead to serve under different coaches, the last one being Ethiopian tactician Wubetu Abate.

The former Nzoia United boss also served as interim head coach for the South Sudanese moneybags twice. During his time at the club, he helped them to qualify to continental football.

At Naibois, the former Kibera Black Stars head coach will be tasked with guiding the club to at least the quarter final of the CAF CC.

The experienced tactician will equally be expected to guide the club to a top three finish in the league, as well as defend the Mozzart Bet Cup to book a place in next season’s CAF CC.

To win the 2025 Mozzart Bet Cup, Naibois slayed Kenyan giants Gor Mahia 2-1 and booked a place in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAF CC) where they are currently competing.

Oduor’s immediate task will be Naibois’ CAF CC group match against Tanzanian side Azam FC on Sunday 25 January at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Both Naibois and Azam are yet to win any of their matches and the Kenyan side will be out to maximize on home advantage to secure their first win in continental football.

Moroccan club Wydad AC are top of Group B with six points, same as Maniema of DR Congo after two rounds of matches.
