Bayer Leverkusen were seconds away from the first loss of the season in the 46th game. And, guess what? They didn't lose. Again!

They are The Invincibles 2.1 version!

It's magical what Bayer Leverkusen pulled off on Saturday night, again, as Xabi Alonso's team managed to grab a last-gasp 2-2 draw at home against Stuttgart.

That has been the 46th match in a row without the taste of loss for the new Bundesliga champions!

And to be quite honest with you, the report about Leverkusen's first historical loss was already written, we were ready to publish it, the headline 'Impossible has happened' would fit perfectly... There was just that last free-kick from the left and less than seconds left in the stoppage time. And you'll never guess what happened - yes, Bayer scored the equalizer to continue their remarkable streak.

When everyone - including us - thought that their mesmerizing series had finally come to an end, Robert Andrich appeared out of the blue in the 90+6 to pounce on a loose ball and provide his team with salvation.

They did it again. They got away with it again. Their fairytale lives on. Whenever it looks like they've reached the end, something miraculous happens in the stoppage time, and Lever... Neverloosen survive.

Believe it or not, this has been the 11th match this season that Xabi Alonso's unbeatable army rescues itself in the added time. It has happened in the Bundesliga, in the Europa League, in the German Cup.

For them, it's not about the competition, it's about the unbreakable mental strength. And the credit for that goes to the former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich midfielder, who's been a true leader all this time. It's not over till the fat lady sings, they say... Well, she sings only when Xabi Alonso allows.
