The Catalans allegedly gave up on the talented forward, as a defender and a midfielder will be their priorities for the upcoming transfer window
A little over a week after Arsenal's interest in Athletic Bilbao's gem Nico Williams was revealed, fantastic news for the Gunners comes from Spain. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will withdraw from the race for the talented Spaniard, as they have set different priorities for the upcoming transfer window.

The paper from the capital of Catalonia further claims that Blaugrana will look for a defender and a midfielder, while Williams is no longer a target for two main reasons. The first is his price, as Bilbao demand €60 million, and the second is Barca's willingness to "bet" on their "current forces" - Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo.
After all, the most lethal trio in Europe - Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal - are also there, so the assessment at Camp Nou is that they need no additional attacking reinforcements.
Hence, the eventual pairing of Spain national team duo Williams-Yamal won't happen, though the 22-year-old Basque could easily end up in tandem with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, or perhaps Viktor Gyokeres, as the Swede has also been lately linked to the Emirates crew.
