Erling Haaland's dream, since he was a boy, is to win the European top club competition. And how does he keep himself pumped up - Champions League anthem every day!

Most of young boys and girls start their sporting careers setting the goal of winning the highest accolade their sport offers. One of them - Erling Haaland, Norwegian wonderboy.

Son of a former professional and Premier League footballer Alf Inge Haaland, Erling has always been around high standards in football and had the opportunity to nurture that wish of winning the biggest European competition.

His desire hasn't died down, as a matter of fact, it is even stronger now, when he is one of the biggest talents of world football.

Speaking for the Telegraph, Haaland has revealed how consumed he is with the dream of winning the Champions League.

He is so hypnotized by the ambition on lifting Europe's top club prize that every morning he wakes up to the sound of the iconic Champions League anthem.

And it seems to be working - the 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker averages a goal every 56 minutes in the competition.

'I have been having that for a couple of years now', he told the outlet. 'You know, it's a very good anthem.'

'I have been thinking about the Champions League my whole life, wanting to play there. So maybe it gives me one per cent extra motivation when I go out on the pitch with the anthem,'

'That's my big dream. To win the Champions League one day. Hopefully I can lift that trophy and that really would be, well, amazing.'

The Norwegian accepts his career is going very fast. And with scoring 20 Champions League goals in his first 14 games, the corpulent forward seems destined to achieve his ambitions at the current rate of progress.

Understandably, giants of European football are after his signature, with Chelsea leading the charge and Manchester rivals also hoping to acquire Haaland's services.

Sportsmail previously reported that the Blues have opened talks over a potential 237.5 million USD (25.5 billion KSH) move for the striker.

Haaland scored 44 goals in 40 games last season - whichever club manages to strike a deal with Dortmund will bag themselves a guaranteed goalscorer for the future.
