Not even half a year together, and they are already breaking up: Marcelo is leaving Olympiacos

At the beginning of September last year, the football legend arrived in Piraeus. Marcelo was welcomed at the Giorgos Karaiskakis Stadium by 25,000 people, who are responsible for the atmosphere that can be seen at the biggest Greek derbies. And there was no game to be played. The reason for the celebration was simply the signing of a member of the super-powerful generation of Real Madrid and one of the best defenders in this century, perhaps in the history of football.

However, instead of a fairy tale, we didn't get a single decent chapter of a story. A little more than five months after he signed for the Piraeus red and whites, Marcelo is ready to leave them. He neither plays nor enjoys it, and Greek Sport24 announced that the Brazilian has an offer from an unnamed club and that Oli has nothing against thanking him for his cooperation. That is why the sports sector of the most trophy-winning Greek club and Marcelo's representatives are working on an amicable termination of cooperation.

His contract lasts until the upcoming summer, there is an option to extend it for another year, but as things stand, it is a matter of when the 34-year-old will leave Greek football. The offer he has allegedly simultaneously satisfies the competitive and financial appetites of the ace from Rio de Janeiro.
