Not good, but crazy ebening! Emery's Villa rollercoaster at Kenilworth Road ends in a last-gasp triumph

Reading Time: 2min | Sat. 02.03.24. | 23:07

Aston Villa were two goals in front before conceding two in the second half, but Digne's 89-th minute goal put the cherry on the top of this super-exciting match (2-3)

Another Ollie Watkins' incredible display, embellished with a double, could have been shattered thanks to Luton Town's remarkable second-half comeback at Kenilworth Road.

However, Lucas Digne stepped up late to save Unai Emery's pride and much-deserved three points for the Villains, strengthening their Champions League credentials.

The visitors had looked in complete control thanks to Watkins' first-half brace, and, at that moment, it seemed as if they would go on to even increase that lead and take the match into a routine win.

Alas, the Hatters had a different kind of plan, with Chong pegging one back before Morris levelled the score for the ecstatic celebration at the charming venue.

Still, it was far from over, and a minute before the stoppage time, Digne headed in a cross from fellow substitute Moussa Diaby for an anticlimax, 2-3.
