West Ham manager thinks that the player needs to do only prevention work in the gym
For years, Adama Traore has been one of the most physically imposing players in the Premier League. Few players in England can match the biceps and muscular build of the current West Ham United FC winger. Combined with his incredible pace, that physique has helped him carve out an impressive career. Nuno Espírito Santo knows him better than anyone. He fully unlocked Traore’s potential at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, and it was at his request that the winger joined West Ham in January. And since Nuno has done so much for him, he now feels entitled to set certain rules — including banning Traore from lifting weights in the gym.

The restriction stems from Adama’s remarkable physique, which Nuno described as “unbelievable.” Before the 5–2 defeat to Liverpool FC, teammate Crysencio Summerville posted a video on social media showing Traore sitting on a bench press. The Spanish winger of Malian descent insisted he was only sitting there — not actually lifting weights.
“His genetics are unbelievable, but he should avoid the gym for a while. I told him to stay away from weightlifting. That’s one of the things he needs to understand. The weight he currently carries is enough; he’ll only focus on prevention work” Espírito Santo explained.
Poor man just wants to lift his weights... West Ham United have banned Adama Traoré from lifting weights at the gym at the club’s training ground. 🤣

The former FC Barcelona winger has mostly played a substitute role since arriving at West Ham. Reports suggest the club are not entirely satisfied with his work rate and commitment, although Nuno still hopes his trusted soldier will rediscover the form he showed at Wolves.
“Traore is unique. There aren’t many players in world football with his abilities, speed, and one-on-one skills. We have to make the most of that” concluded the West Ham manager.
