Ulinzi Stars head coach Benjamin Nyangweso still has hopes of lifting the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title.
Despite their deflating 1-0 loss to AFC Leopards, Ulinzi Stars head coach Benjamin Nyangweso insists that the title race is still wide open.
Ulinzi Stars suffered only their second loss of the season following defeat to Gor Mahia in the season’s opener and were enjoying an enviable 11 game unbeaten run.
The defeat to Ingwe courtesy of a goal from Peter Thiong’o leaves them a massive 15 points behind log leaders Tusker who show no signs of running out of steam.
With Ulinzi sitting seventh on the log after amassing 17 points from 13 games, Nyangweso is looking to replicate his 2010 heroics when he guided The Soldiers to their fourth league title.
“We are still in the first leg, we will get to have a clearer picture of who is going to lift the title midway through into the second leg.”
“Everyone in the top ten has a chance of lifting the trophy depending on how good they perform in the next round of fixtures,” said Nyangweso.

Ulinzi continues with their tough run of fixtures as they next face Bandari before traveling to face the most in-form side in the league Tusker.
Nyangweso is hoping to cure his side’s scoring deficiency and rued the missed chances in the clash against Ingwe.
“We have not been scoring but in the last three games we have scored, against Western Stima and Sofapaka we got two goals, we will continue working on this.”
“Missing chances is part of football, when you do not take them you will be punished. We also had our own chances which we did not take and they got one chance and scored,” he added.
Ulinzi will have to turn draws into wins if they are to lift the title as they are the side with the highest draws (8) in the league.
