His lone goal handed Tusker maximum points for the second time in the season

Defensive midfielder David Odoyo had premonition that he would score in their league tie against Muhoroni Youth that was played last Saturday at the Ruaraka grounds.

His wish of having his name in the scoresheet came to pass in the second half when he connected a cut back from Shaphan Siwa to strike the difference in the game as well as hand the brewers the second win of the season.

The goal also condemned Muhoroni to their first defeat in the campaign as Charles Odera’s charges had reaped draws in the previous three matches.

For a player who was coming from suspension having seen red in day one, the performance he put and the goal was the perfect redemption as he had envisaged days to the clash.

Odoyo, missed rounds two and three courtesy of the straight red card he picked in the season’s opener against Bandari at Mbaraki grounds.

Scoring a goal in the match was all over my mind prior to the game. I even worked on my finishing. I am glad to have found the back of the net,” said the youngster.

I am happy to mark my return from suspension with a win,” he added.

The former Green Commandos midfielder who joined Tusker last year would dedicate the match-winning goal to his mother.

I owe it to myself and my mum,” said Odoyo.

With the goal, Tusker bounced back to winning ways after dropping points in the previous two matches against Kakamega Homeboyz and Kariobangi Sharks.

Odoyo, whose ultimate dream is to play for South African giants Orlando Pirates observed that the commitment from his colleagues and hard work bore fruits last weekend.

We wanted to win and redeem ourselves after dropping points in the preceding rounds. Everyone in the team was committed and disciplined. It can only get better going forward,” he stated.
