Okare eyes strong comeback to the FKF PL scene

High-flying MCF forward Ezekiel Okare is yearning to stage a stupendous comeback to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League scene in the forthcoming season.

Okare has been firing from all cylinders since joining the National Super League side late last year as he is the leading scorer in the competition with fourteen goals written against his name.

The goal poacher caught many by surprise when he ditched top flight football for the National Super League (NSL) but he says the move was a strategic one as it has helped him rediscover the requisite form and confidence required to conquer in the top competition.

Okare who prior to joining MCF was attached to Posta Rangers penned a season-long deal with the second-tier side and feels before that offers will be flocking in before the season comes to a close.

He says the move to join MCF tagged along with the much needed playing time that wasn't coming his way in his final weeks at Rangers.

"It is my prayer and wish that I will be back to top flight football next season. I do not regret making the move as it has given me the chance to regain confidence and form. I hope that top flight clubs will come for my signature at the end of the season should MCF miss out on promotion, " he said.

Apart from scaling a staircase up again, the former Sofapaka man revealed his target of netting more than twenty goals before the season ends.

Last season,another ex-Sofapaka player Cornelius Lusaka emerged as the top scorer in the NSL and would return to the FKFPL after Kenya Police acquired his signature.

"I had set a target of scoring at least twenty goals before the season began and I am happy that I am on course to achieve it. The competition is extremely tough but by the aide of the technical bench, we will strike our objective at the end of the season," he added.
