Olunga in Saudi Arabia for the Asian Champions League

Olunga will be eager to make his AFC Champions League debut against Iraqi powerhouse Al Shorta.
Kenyan international Michael Olunga was part of the Al Duhail squad that checked into Saudi Arabia for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League tournament.
Al Duahil are in Group C which is set to have all of its Group Stage matches in the seaside city of Jeddah in a marathon fixture that will see all matches played this month.
The competition recently expanded its format witnessing 40 teams playing in 10 groups, with the group leaders in addition to the top six runners-up qualifying to the Round of 16.
Al Duhail are joined by Al Ahli Saudi FC, Iran Pro League giants Esteghlal FC and Iraqi powerhouse Al Shorta.

The group stage matches will be staged at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium that has a capacity of 62,000 and has hosted the 2019 Italian Super Cup, the 2020 Spanish Super Cup as well as other sporting events including WWE.
The tournament comes at an opportune time for Olunga who is enduring a red hot streak that has seen him score six goals in the last six games.
This is the first AFC Champions League campaign that the 27-year-old will be featuring in despite moving to the continent back in 2017 and featuring for Kashiwa Reysol and Guizhou Zhicheng.

He has however featured in the FIFA Club World Cup back in February losing to Al Ahly before beating Ulsan Hyundai to finish fifth.
Al Duhail will kick off their campaign against Iraqi side Al Shorta on Thursday 17 April.
