Kenya Under 20 striker Benson Omalla is delighted after making his league debut for FC Linkoping City of Sweden on Sunday afternoon in a league match against, Qviding FIF.

Omalla, who travelled to Sweden on Thursday evening made his bow on Sunday after coming on in the 46th minute. He however could do little to prevent his club from going down as they suffered a sixth successive league defeat.

He has only trained once with the team and he says that the coaching staff have shown great faith and expect a lot from him going into the next league assignments.

“I feel grateful for making my debut today because I feel that the coaches and other staff believe in me and expect a lot from me,” he told Mozzart Sport.

Omalla also admitted that he has been received well at his club. He described his teammates as friendly and the fact that some can speak English makes it easier for him to communicate.

“The reception was good the players are friendly and it's easy for me to communicate because a number of my teammates know how to speak English,” he continued.

Linkoping is rooted at the bottom of the table without a single point after 6 rounds of matches but the young attacker believes that he can help his team turn the season around once he fully settles down.

“I have only trained with the team once and I am still getting used to them. I am getting to understand the formation and the system of play. I know everything is going to be well and we will perform well in the upcoming matches,” he concluded.

Omala, will be at Linkoping until the end of the year when the loan agreement signed between Gor and the Swedish club expires.
