The Cameroonian is slowly and steadily calming the shaky beginning among the Red Devils

He has had his ups and downs since arriving to Manchester United but no one can deny Andre Onana's talent. One of the best African custodians has established his name across Europe, doing his job really well while being employed by Ajax and Inter Milan. The Red Devils saw the potential of the footballer born in Nkol Ngok and brought him to Olt Trafford last July in a 50,000,000 euros transfer.

The 28-year-old sat in front of the Premier League promo team and their 'Greatness comes from everywhere' series and spoke about his roots, the footballing beginnings in his home country, and also what it feels like to represent the Indomitable Lions.

"In Cameroon, we had a local pitch back in the day and we used to call it Giuseppe Meazza. I don't know if it is still there. It was really small, it was just for five, six, max eight people. It was different than Old Trafford one hundred percent" says Onana with a smile.

"For us it was big because we were kids. I was everywere, but not in the goal because I was considering myself a good (outfield) player. I thought I was good at the time."

"My brother, Cristian Onana, he was playing in Cameroon, as a goalkeeper so because of him I started loving the position and - boom, everything changed."

"I left my country years ago, I left everything behind, my family, my friends. You have to sacrifice a lot, you have to do a lot of good things. Now I am here at the Premier League so think everyone has the right to be here."

"Manchester United is a very big club. It is a big privilege - Van der Sar, Schmeichel, they have done good things so for me I have to try and enjoy my moment, to make my own history."

When asked where he thinks he gets his 'greatness' from - Onana praised those closest to him.

"I think it comes from my family, my parent who raised me good, I will not forget my wife, who has always been there with me and the people I have around me. Because, you know you can achieve a lot of things but I think you cannot do it alone, you can't reach it. I am very happy, very proud to have those people around me."

"In Cameroon, we have a lot of big players who have done a lot of great things and opened doors for us. People like Roger Milla, who have done a lot of things for the country. So for us it was the way to follow."

"It's a big honor, a big privilege, I am very proud to be African because for me being Cameroonian is...I can't describe it because I feel so proud."
