The midfielder finished last season with three goals to his name

Ahead of the new Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL), Posta Rangers midfielder Bernard Ondiek is looking add goals to his game in a bid to become a complete midfielder.

Since joining the Mailmen back in February 2021 from record league champions Gor Mahia, Ondiek has established himself as a regular starter in the team despite playing under a number of coaches.

The former Gor Mahia midfielder is looking to register himself more on the score sheet with assists rarely being looked at in the league.

"There is a lot of uncertainty at the moment, we do not even know the exact date when the season will start and we are yet to confirm our new head coach because we are currently under an interim but with that said, next season I'm looking to score more goals.

In our current league, having assists is not that lucrative for a player because getting such stats are hard so in the coming season goals are what I'm looking at, last season I had three goals and that is an area which clearly needs improvement," said Ondiek.

Posta finished last season 11th with 44 points but saw their form dip after former head coach Stanley Okumbi vacated his role with his replacement Salim Ali sacked and assistant Collins 'Korea' Omondi taking over the reins.

Ondiek added that the team is still preparing for next season having taken part in the Kenya Communication Sports Organisation (KECOSO) games and hopes the new management will improve on their results last season.

"We started pre season early because we were taking part in the KECOSO games and so far I can say that the team is looking good ahead of next season and we hope after elections we can improve on our fitness.

As for the head coach that will come in place, we hope that he will improve the team with good signings and he can also finish higher than we did last season," added Ondiek.
