The Nigerian international apparenly appologized to his coach right after the game

When the results are not there, tensions are growing. Strikers are remembered only by their goals, so when they are not in form, tensions are growing. After another disappointing game for title defending Napoli this week, and after another disappointing display from Victor Osimhen, fans could witness an angry outburst by the Nigerian towards his coach Rudy Garcia. Osimhen scored two goals against Frosinone in the first round, another against Sassuolo in the second, but since then nothing. Neither against Lazio and Genoa, nor against Braga in the Champions League, nor against Bologna. In fact, he missed the potential game-winning penalty and was subbed near the end of the match, when he complained to Garcia.

According to Il Mattino, Osimhen and Garcia were about to meet on Monday at Napoli’s training ground to discuss the incident and the striker was in line for a fine for his behavior. But, according to Calciomercato.com, the player immediately apologized after the game, while the players were in the locker room and all was forgotten. The same portal also pointed out that this was not Osimhen’s first outburst. Back in July 2022, he came to blows with Spalletti. The 24-year-old was ejected from a pre-season training session that summer after reacting furiously to a challenge from Leo Ostigard. He argued with his coach and tensions quickly flared, but things soon calmed down and he returned to the fold. If he scores against Udinese and Napoli finally win, all will be forgotten.
