Osimhen's extra-time heroics knock brave ten-man Juve out of UCL
Reading Time: 3min | Thu. 26.02.26. | 11:01
The Old Lady played without the dismissed Lloyd Kelly since the 48th minute, scored two goals with a man down to salvage extra time, but eventually fell short in the additional half an hour
After a 5-2 win in Istanbul, the entire European football public saw Galatasaray in the Champions League Round of 16. However, Juventus did their best to regain at least some dignity they lost last week in Turkey and showed why they are Italian and continental giants.
Still, it wasn't enough.

As if they were uninspired and complacent after a crushing victory in the first leg, Galatasaray players were nowhere near the level they had demonstrated at home, and were almost punished for that.
Juve broke the deadlock in the 37th minute from the spot through Manuel Locatelli, and the atmosphere at Allianz Stadium instantly went from depressive to optimistic.
The pressure on the visitors mounted, and even after the Old Lady's centre-back Lloyd Kelly was sent off in the 48th minute, the Turkish side failed to pull itself up.
The Bianconeri's attacks grew increasingly dangerous as the end of the match approached, and what had been thought impossible prior to the game happened: Juventus levelled the score on aggregate!
In the span of 12 minutes, between the 70th and 82nd, Federico Gatti and Weston McKennie found the net, cutting the deficit and salvaging extra-time for the ten-man home team.
Despite the numerical advantage, Galatasaray were on the ropes.
In the 96th minute, Edon Zhegrova had a colossal chance to completely knock out the visitors and pave the way for Juve's miracle, but alas... The former Lille forward wasted a massive opportunity, and ten minutes later, his team was punished.
In the nick of time before the break between the two halves of extra time, Victor Osimhen stepped up and scored a vital goal for Galatasaray, crushing Juve's dreams.

Luciano Spalletti's men desperately went for another goal, which would secure them at least the penalty shoot-out, but instead, they conceded once more in the 119th minute, as Baris Alper Yilmaz sealed their fate.
In the end, Juventus fans can be proud of their team's performance, but it will be a poor consolation after another early Champions League elimination. At the same time, Galatasaray's UCL dream continues, as they'll face a Premier League side, either Liverpool or Tottenham, in the Round of 16.
