Simba wa Nairobi are winless in the last two matches and will travel to the coast hoping to whip the host and register their eleventh win of the season

Nairobi City Stars defensive midfielder Clifford Ouma is optimistic that the team will return to winning ways this weekend when they face Bandari at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.

City Stars were on a seven-game winning streak until the last three weeks when they failed to pick up maximum points against the AFC Leopards and Shabana.

Their good run of positive results was brought to a halt by the Leopards, who beat them 2-0 at Bukhungu Stadium before playing league returnee Shabana to a barren draw last weekend.

In both matches, City Stars had a man sent off, with skipper Calvins Masawa seeing red in the defeat to the Leopards, his first in the top tier, while Newton Ochieng went for an early shower in the tie against Shabana.

Before the unwanted results against the Leopards and Shabana, City Stars had been drawn into the title talks as they were trailing league leaders Gor Mahia by seven points.

The trip down to the coast and getting maximum points against Bandari in their backyard is difficult on paper, but Ouma is confident that the team will deliver.

"We want to get back to winning ways this weekend after reaping unwanted results in the last two matches. We have been training hard, and everyone on the team has the hunger and attitude to win the game," he said.

Simba wa Nairobi are the second team with the most lethal forward line after Kenya Police, who have been firing from all cylinders since the time coach Salim Babu took over.

In the interest of scoring goals, Ouma expressed confidence that their forward line will find the back of the net convincingly in their next game.

"This is the first time in the season we have gone for two matches without a goal. We can't allow ourselves to go play another game to its entirety without scoring," he stated.

City Stars beat Bandari 1-0 in the first leg played in December last year at Ruaraka Grounds, with Robinson Asenwa being the hero as his first-half goal won the game for the Kawangware-based club.
