The midfielder hopes to add on to his one assist at the club thus far.

Former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Shaphan Oyugi has opened up on his target of notching seven goals after joining Tusker FC in the mid-season transfer window.

Oyugi joined the Brewers from Tanzanian Premier League outfit Biashara United on the Bosman rule after running down his contract.

The tenacious midfielder revealed that he hopes to plunder seven goals in the remaining 20 games Tusker have and chip in with more assists.

“My target for the season is to score at least seven goals and provide as many assists as possible.

I am a midfielder and I should contribute to the goals. Moreso, I just want to do my best to help the team attain good results,” said Oyugi.

The midfielder already has one assist to his name in the two games he has played for the Robert Matano-led side and will be looking to add on to his tally if he is called up in the clash against Bandari on Wednesday.

The former Chemelil Sugar FC midfielder also opened up on life at Tusker having initially played alongside Apollo Otieno at the Millers as well as Daniel Sakari and Brian Bwire who were his former mates at Sharks

“It has been very seamless settling in because when you go somewhere and see familiar faces, it becomes easier for you to adapt and get going. So far so good and I feel like I am in a family.

I was very pleased to come to Tusker because even when I was a kid in school, I had always hoped to play for this club one day and now it has come true. It is up to me to show why I wanted to come here by working hard and doing well,” added Oyugi.
