Real's president expected an apology after a tweet which insulted Vinicisu

Out of nowhere, a bizarre Napoli TikTok video, which mocked Victor Osimhen recently appeared and caused an unnecessary stir among the player and the club of the current Serie A champion, which still hasn’t quite healed. In the other part of Europe, a similar unnecessary act caused a distraction among Spanish giants, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Just days before the great derby, Barca’s spokesperson Miquel Camps decided to make his private feelings about Vinicius Jr. public, for no apparent reason.

Posting on Twitter during the game between Real and Braga in the Champions League, after a play on the left wing in which the Brazilian tried to hit a Portuguese defender after two bicycles, Camps wrote:

"It's not racism, he deserves a slap for being a clown and a lazy person. What do these unnecessary and meaningless bicycles represent in the center of the field?".

After realizing what he has done, Camps simply deleted the post as if nothing happened. But off course, whatever goes public, remains public and so was his tweet. Real Madrid and Barcelona are trying to maintain the good relations but this act for Barca’s official, never got the proper ending, e.a. an apology, which provoked Real’s president Florentino Perez to decide against going to El Classico on Saturday. Madrid’s supremo wanted to attend the match and support the players and the coach in a hostile atmosphere but Camps’ outburst prevented that. And now the Catalans are apologizing.

Rafa Yuste, sports vice president of Barcelona, came out to and publically talked about Vinicius and Camps.

"Even if it is a mistake, it doesn't have to be done. It is an unfortunate tweet. If Vinicius is listening to me, it is an unfortunate tweet that will not be repeated by my teammate or another manager” added Yuste into the Movistar Plus microphones. Will that apology will be enough remains to be seen.
