Only 8 points from the first eight games in Ligue 1 are not good enough
The results in League 1 say that something is seriously wrong in Nice's game. Only eight points from eight rounds in the French championship and two draws in the Conference League (Cologne and Partizan) are not a performance that satisfies the ambitions of the management of the Cote d'Azur club. And, as is usually the case, the first one who will pay for such a state is the coach.

The French media write that Lucian Favre's days at the helm are numbered and that Nice has already contacted Mauricio Pochettino and arranged a meeting where they will negotiate the terms of cooperation. The Argentine got the sack at Paris Saint-Germain in July after spending a year and a half together, because despite winning the title, he failed to make progress in the Champions League. At Princes' Park, They expected much more from the coach who led Tottenham to the Champions League final in the 2018/2019 season.
The experienced Favre succeeded Christophe Galtier on the Cote d'Azur team's bench this summer, after his predecessor took over from Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain. The return mandate of the Swiss, however, is not going well. First, he struggled to introduce the team to the Conference League through Maccabi from Tel Aviv (0:1, 2:0), and then the he produced the following results: League 1 (two wins, two draws, four losses) and two draws in Europe. Favre fared much better in the 2016/2017 season, when he led Nice from third place to the Champions League. The report also adds that Nice would be able to meet Pochettino's salary demands, but it remains to be seen if the Argentinian will jump at the chance, or will he sit and wait for the more attractive opportunity.
