The David Vijago-coached side wrapped up the crown over the weekend following a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Trinity Starlets, underlining their continued dominance in Kenyan women’s football.
With the league season set to conclude on Sunday,17 May, Police Bullets sit comfortably at the summit with 49 points, ahead of Ulinzi Starlets on 44 points, while Kibera Soccer Women, Trinity Starlets and Vihiga Queens occupy the top five bracket.
Despite the achievement, Vijago has challenged his players to avoid complacency as the team prepares for the regional qualifiers slated for Saturday, 22 August to Sunday, 6 September in Kigali, Rwanda.
“We have worked very hard for this moment, but we also understand that even bigger challenges are ahead of us,” Vijago said.
“Winning the FKF Women's Premier League title for the third consecutive season should not make us comfortable.
We fought for it, and now the focus shifts to the Champions League qualifiers, where we must strengthen the squad to match the level of competition.”
Team captain Elizabeth Ochaka credited the club’s success to discipline, unity, and consistency throughout the campaign, while also warning that rivals will now be even more determined to dethrone the champions.
“We fought for every match and every point this season. Winning again is special for us, but now every team will want to beat Police Bullets, so we have to keep improving and remain focused,” said Ochaka.
Police Bullets will head into the CECAFA qualifiers hoping to improve on their recent performances in the regional competition.
During the 2025 qualifiers held in Nairobi, the Kenyan champions reached the semi-finals before suffering a 4-2 defeat to Tanzanian giants JKT Queens at Kasarani Stadium.
They had impressed in the group stages after topping Group A with six points, beginning their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Kampala Queens before registering a 2-0 win against Eritrea’s Denden FC.
In 2024, Police Bullets came even closer to securing a historic qualification to the continental tourney after reaching the CECAFA final, only to lose 1-0 to hosts Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, who went on to represent the region at the CAF Women’s Champions League.
