Posta took an early lead in the seventh minute through former Tusker FC midfielder Jackson Macharia while K’Ogalo secured a point courtesy of a 87th minute strike by Ebenezer Assifuah.
Speaking after the match, Gor Mahia head coach Charles Akonnor expressed his disappointment with Posta Rangers’ time wasting antics, with Omondi choosing to respond by calling him out for what he considered unsportsmanship.
“The Gor Mahia coach does not greet other coaches. Football is fair play,” said Omondi.
The former Naivas FC tactician also expressed his disappointment in the result, having led for the better part of the game.
“It is sad that we let in a late goal because our main objective was to win and end our winless streak against a Gor Mahia side that had won their last seven matches,” he added.
The draw extended The Mailmen’s winless run to 11 matches with Korea opening up on the main problem affecting his team.
“Out of our 11 matches without a win, there are halves that we played well including against Gor, AFC Leopards, Tusker, Kariobangi Sharks and many more. My question to my players always is why can't we kill the game when we are having momentum?
Even against Gor, we ought to have killed the game in the first half but we did not and that has really been our major undoing which we have to work on,” he remarked.
With the result, Posta remained 13th on the log with 25 points and will now shift attention to their Mozzart Bet Cup round 32 tie against Oinopsos.
