The Mailmen are currently on a four-match winless run following their 2-0 loss to Sofapaka, in a match played on Monday, 10 November at the Dandora Stadium.
Before the rain started beating them, Posta were on top of the league table after four rounds of matches, having won three and drawn one.
Speaking to the press after the disappointing loss to Batoto ba Mungu, Omondi shared the genesis of the team’s struggles and how they will overcome them.
“We are not breaking camp. We must work on our weaknesses during this time. We have conceded 12 goals in eight games and must look for a way to reduce that.
We have also failed to score and must thus improve on that if we are to win. You cannot win without scoring,” said Omondi.
Nevertheless, the former Naivas FC tactician said that they are yet to press the panic button, terming their predicaments a passing cloud.
“It is just a bad run that we are having and which will come to pass. It is a normal thing in football,” he added.
Reflecting on their loss to Sofapaka, Omondi explained their struggles in the Monday afternoon clash.
“We were not able to play from the back and take the ball to midfield and eventually forward as we always do, and so we could not control the game or possession and lost the ball to which we got punished like in the second goal.”
Posta started the match with four midfielders, deploying South Sudanese international Jackson Dwang' on the wing, but changed at halftime. Omondi took time to give details of the tactical tweak even though it did not stop their troubles of the day.
“We were not effective in wide areas, especially in the first half and therefore had to sacrifice one of the four midfielders in the second half in order to have some width and create chances from the wide areas,” he stated.
