Promising Kenyan defender switches to Rainbow FC in Dubai from local franchise

Ouma was part of Kenya's U17 squad that travelled to Rwanda for the 2020 CECAFA U17 Championships

Rainbow FC Kenya center-back Faiz Ouma has joined Dubai-based Rainbow partner club, Elite Falcons FC.

The18-year-old has been with the club since March this year and featured in seven games for Rainbow in their FKF Division Two campaign where they emerged victorious to earn their promotion to FKF Division One.

In 2020, Ouma was among the Junior Stars who traveled to Kigali, Rwanda for the 2020 CECAFA U17 Championships where Kenya was bundled out of the group stage following a heavy defeat to Uganda and a draw to Ethiopia.

Speaking before jetting out of the country for Dubai, the towering defender expressed his gratitude to the club and everyone involved, adding that he will do his best to be a good ambassador.

"I’ve had such a great time playing for Rainbow FC Kenya. I’d like to thank the management, coaches, players, and fans for believing in me, and I will do my best to make everyone proud," he said.

Last month, he featured prominently for Rainbow during the Elite Preseason Cup Tournament despite his team getting knocked out of the tournament at the group stage, and with him scoring in his own net against Sofapaka.

Recently, he participated in Rainbow's just concluded soccer camps in Kenya, where he was scouted, and will be a part of the Rainbow Combine next month in Dubai which will give him the opportunity to showcase his talent to professional football club recruiters from all over the world.
