Given Man United's loss to Aston Villa yesterday, the debut of the legendary Darren Fletcher's son, Jack, went slightly under the radar
Manchester United yesterday suffered a defeat to Aston Villa in Birmingham, 2-1, and, to make matters worse, lost Bruno Fernandes, who'll miss some time - around a month, according to first predictions. And it's clear that no one will want to remember either December 21, 2025, or the clash against the Villans.
No one, but one family. And not any family, but a "hardcore Red Devils" family. The Fletchers.
We all remember Darren Fletcher, United's legend, the man who spent 20 years at Old Trafford, made 342 senior appearances, and won 13 trophies in Manchester.
Well, even though it went slightly under the radar, the 73rd minute of the duel at Villa Park will forever remain etched in the former midfielder's memory, as his 18-year-old son, Jack, made his debut for the Fletchers' beloved club, replacing Benjamin Sesko.

Did you know that he’s the son of five-time PL champion Darren Fletcher, and that his twin brother Tyler is also in the @ManUtd academy? 😯 pic.twitter.com/IUawwj9EwG
And even though the circumstances and outcome were nowhere near positive, the story of Man United's legacy in the Fletcher family, and the love for the club passed down from father to son, cast a more favourable light on the whole situation.
Nevertheless, this isn't the end for Darren's family, as the 41-year-old's other son, Jack's twin brother Tyler, is also in the Red Devils' academy, and his debut is undoubtedly next goal on the proud father's wishlist.
