Real repeated the penalty claim 245 times on TV

At one point during the season, it became obvious that Real Madrid won’t be able to win La Liga title. President Florentino Perez reacted before that and Xabi Alonso was replaced by Alvaro Arbeola, but still, the results weren’t much better either. Five rounds before the end of the season, Barcelona has a massive 11 points advantage and even if the Catalans lose El Clasico in May, the difference will still be huge. The last ‘nail in the coffin’ was a 1-1 draw with Betis on Friday. Real took the lead, but former Arsenal player Bellerin scored deep in injury time for the final 1-1. But as soon as the game finished, Real started to complain about the referee.

For Los Blancos, two situations are controversial: a potential penalty after Ricardo Rodriguez's handball following Brahim Diaz's shot and an alleged foul on Ferland Mendy prior to Bellerin's leveller. But, the penalty situation was far more obvious (according to them) and in order to convince their fans that it was a mistake by the referee, Real Madrid’s TV showed the controversial situation no less than 245 times! The (in)famous club’s television had their length post-match analysis and decided to show the Rodriguez’s handball almost 250 times, while once again attacking the referees, the presidents of LaLiga and the RFEF, Javier Tebas and Rafael Louzan. Barcelona was not spared either, as 'Negreira case' was the topic again.

Real TV also brought up all the alleged refereeing errors against them this season and even in previous seasons, not mentioning the player’s poor form and out of form footballers. As for Brahim’s possible handball in the Real Madrid penalty area in the 2nd minute, which also sparked protests from the Betis players, Real TV saw nothing wrong: "His hand was close to his body and the ball hit him on the shoulder".
