Okumbi's charges looking to bounce back to winning ways

Posta Rangers will be looking to snap their two game winless run when they host a high flying Kakamega Homeboyz on Friday at the Ruaraka grounds.

Rangers who are unbeaten in their last five matches have posted back to back draws leaving them hanging just two places above the red line.

The Stanley Okumbi coached mailmen who boast of winning three out of the seven meetings approach the game aware that three points will relieve their fears of sinking into the danger zone as they will scale three places up.

Rangers captain Suleiman Ngotho believes that their preparations throughout the week were good enough to arrest their successive draws.

The burly centre who joined the club from Thika United in 2018 said that the coach spent the better part of the week sharpening the forwards who have scored four goals in five matches.

Our biggest undoing has been scoring more than two goals on match days. I believe from the training we had in the week the goal drought will come to an end against Homeboyz. We also know that a win will inch us closer to the top ten,” he said.

Homeboyz who haven’t beat Rangers in the last seven matches will be seeking their eighth win of the season.

Nicholas Muyoti’s charges will heavily draw confidence from their last weekend 4-0 win over Western Stima as well as the return of former Harambee Stars forward Allan Wanga who missed the last two matches.

Fast-rising Homeboyz defender Slyvester Owino has exuded confidence in bagging the three points ahead of the match. Owino who has three goals against his name also expressed hope in keeping another clean sheet as well as enriching his goal tally.

We had good preparations for the match. We will draw inspiration from our win against Stima last weekend. Besides helping the team keep a clean sheet, I will be seeking my fourth goal of the season,” said the youngster.
