Resurrected Denmark trashes Russia to seal the 1/8 finals showdown with Wales

Without Christian Eriksen, Danes pull off an incredible 4-1 victory, and following Belgium's 2-0 win against Finland, go through as the second-placed side in a Group B

From horror to fairytale! That's the summary of Denmark's rollercoaster drive in the super-exciting Group B at the EURO 2020.

Despite a tragic situation with Christian Eriksen and his shocking cardiac arrest during the opening game against Finland, the Danes managed to clinch a crucial victory in the last round and advance to the 1/8 finals, where they will face Gareth Bale's Wales.

Eriksen's teammates swept Russia off 4-1 in a clinical display in front of full-packed Parken stadium in Copenhagen. Late Christiansen's screamer provided the Danish side with a deserved euphoria coming after the traumatic experience with Eriksen, who, thankfully, survived after collapsing on the pitch.

Deplorable Russia conceded four and found themselves at the bottom of the group, albeit they won their previous tie against Finland and were close of reaching the next stage of the competition. Finally, the Finns are on the verge of elimination due to a disappointing third place with only 3 points on their account, and an awful goal-margin (1-3), which seems insufficient to move further on.

The table-toppers, Belgium, now await for the next rival in the knockout round - one of those best third-placed teams - with many reasons to feel capable of reaching the very final on the wings of Lukaku, Hazard, De Bruyne and other household names in the starting XI.

Lots of drama at the EURO, but isn't that the exact reason why we love this game so much?
