Revamped Kibera host Heroes hoping to begin season with a win

Seven matches are lined up in day two of the National Super League

A revamped National Super League side Kibera Black Stars will be seeking to start their quest to automatic promotion to the top flight when they host Coastal Heroes on Sunday at the Hope Centre.

Kibera enter the season with odds swinging in their favor courtesy of the new shirt sponsorship, new players and technical bench as well as state of the art bus.

They take on Heroes who were initially known as Coast Stima but had to rebrand after cutting ties with their shirt sponsor, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company.

Kibera prepared for the season by playing high profile friendly matches against top flight sides Kariobangi Sharks, Tusker and Wazito.

Elsewhere, Dandora Love will also be seeking to start with a win when they tackle Kisumu United at Camp Toyoyo grounds. The two clubs were previously known as Mt. Kenya United and Western Stima respectively. The match will be preceded by the clash pitting newbies Naivas who will take on MCF.

Murang’a Seal will confront another new comer in SS Assad at St. Sebastian Park while Aps Bomet will play Gusii FC at the Bomet grounds. Mombasa Elite are scheduled to entertain Silibwet Leons at the Mbaraki grounds while Mara Sugar will be seeking to announce their arrival in the competition with a win when they play Shabana at the Awendo Green Stadium.

On Saturday, former top flight side Vihiga United began life in the second tier will a one all draw against Migori Youth at the Mumias Sports Complex while Zoo FC also recorded a similar scoreline against Kisumu All Stars at the Green Stadium, Kericho.

Fortune Sacco beat Mwatate United by a solitary goal at the Kianyaga grounds.
