All hell broke loose in the bowels of Stadio Olimpico

Insults, threats, disrespect and confrontation! The aftermath of the Italian Derby della Capitale on Sunday was one of the most eventful ones ever. After the final whistle, the passion spilt over and increased the already-high temperature.

On the pitch, Bryan Cristante and Adam Marusic were sent off, but their behaviour was nice and classy compared to what happened after the final whistle. As he was coming off, Lazio's defender Alessio Romagnoli, who started his career at Roma, thought it would be a good idea to go in front of Roma's dressing room door and celebrate loudly. Roma's centre-back Gianluca Mancini came out of the locker room and called Romagnoli a "piece of sh*t". At that point, Lazio's president Claudio Lotito decided to have a little chat with the opposition's coach.

Even though Jose Mourinho was suspended from managing his team from the touchline, he was in the dressing room after the game, as Roma claimed their coach had a specially-issued permit by the Serie A commissioner. The Portuguese saw Lotito watching with interest and told him off by saying something along the lines of "what the fu*k are you looking at?"

Lotito, full of derby-winning pride, ripped into The Special One.

"I am the president of Lazio. And who are you? This stadium is my home, and you shouldn't be here!"

Tempers flared so much that Roma's general manager Tiago Pinto had to intervene and keep the two men apart. Around them, Mourinho's assistant Salvatore Foti and Lazio's Spanish forward Luis Alberto had a coming together. The Spaniard then took another swipe at their rivals in a mini-interview.

"When you talk before a game, and then you lose, you have to keep quiet. They talked too much before the game. They always talk so much before the derby, but this time they got fu*ked, so they should keep quiet. It's simple. They didn't come to play in the derby. They have come to talk and provoke. We were much better today, we just played and got the result we wanted."

The tensions were riding high, so when all those people met in the crowded corridor in front of the locker rooms, it was like a bomb of frustration exploded.

There will be a lot of work for the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Italy after the rumble in the capital.
