Ronaldo crucial for Juve's transfer spree: Pogba is coming if CR7 leaves

Whatever Cristiano Ronaldo does, it causes reaction, and we are not talking about shirt sales. The Juventus forward will probably won’t be Juventus forward for long, since Italian media have already written about his wish to leave, but his possible transfer will effect other Juventus' wheeling and dealing. There are possible two big transfers for Juve, which are put on hold, because they depend on Ronaldo and his decision.

Apart from already mentioned Mauro Icardi transfer from PSG, Tuttosport now writes that Paul Pogba will arrive to Turin only if Ronaldo leaves. Pogba has played in spirited fashion for much of the campaign but the fact remains he's out of contract in 12 months and his powerful agent Mino Raiola wants to manufacture a transfer. United could still get a decent fee for the 28-year-old, and they need money for other investments (Jandon Sancho, Rafael Varane, Declan Rice), so the idea to sell doesn’t seem so unrealistic.

But why would Ronaldo want to go, since Juve managed to secure another Champions League spot? That might have something to do with the fact that Massimilano Allegri is back in Turin, and the last time them two were in the same team, the Portuguese was not happy. In fact, Fabio Paratici left his post as a director in Juventus after 11 years partly because he was the one who forced Allegri to leave the club, after his relationship with Ronaldo detoriated. That doesn’t mean that the world star and his coach can’t decide to call a truce, they are not kids. But, if the Portuguese decides to leave, Allegri won’t shed any tears.

There are two options on the table: The more realistic one would be for Ronaldo to leave and choose PSG, which would then set two further transfers in motion – Mbappe to Real and Icardi to Juventus. Mbappe is almost certain to leave, while Icardi would like to stay, but PSG have other ideas. The other option would be for Ronaldo to choose Manchester United (that doesn’t seems realistic) and then Juve could facilitate a swamp for Pogba, with the adititonal cash.

We will certainly wait some time until Ronaldo decides what he want’s, and it will probably be after the EURO 2020, but the decision will affect Allegri and Juventus. While waiting for the Portuguese to make up his mind, the Italian tactician will try to secure a new deals for Morata (on loan from Atletico) and Dybala.
