Former Real forward Antonio Cassano critisized Juve's striker
When results are not coming, everybody is criticizing, and that’s the reality of football. Even the biggest names out there are not untouchable, as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo found out this week. After failing to impress against their Champions League rivals PSG and Porto (but it must be said that Messi had a much tougher opponent), critics have raised their heads.
It’s interesting to point out that people who criticized Messi and Ronaldo were famous for wasting their talents when they were at their prime: Joe Cole and Antonio Cassano. And while Cole’s criticism was aimed at apparent Messi’s lack of interest in Barca, former Real Madrid forward was talking about the thing we all know – the selfishness of Christiano Ronaldo.
“I have always said, considering that he’s a phenomenon and has scored a billion goals, that it could be difficult with Andrea Pirlo’s idea of football. He scores a goal per game, it’s true, but struggles with the ideas of Andrea. He has always been a bit selfish, he doesn’t care about others scoring goals, he’s the kind of player who lives to score. He doesn’t live for the play, the great match, he lives for the goal, and at this moment, the situation is getting worse. If you put Xavi, Iniesta, Modric, or Kroos behind him, he'll score 50 goals. But the ideas are changing at Juventus and they have a new approach. Let's be honest, he's in trouble there. The years are passing for everyone, even for him. Juventus are trying to change their ideas and play a different type of football, due to the qualities of Ronaldo” said Cassano on Bobo TV.

Juventus are already accused of playing „boring football“ this season, and they wouldn’t care about that if they were winning, but they are not. Former Juve legend Alessandro Del Piero thought that his team was missing another player, not Ronaldo.
“Juventus lacked ideas, Chiesa and Kulusevski came too deep to get the ball. The player who does what Morata does was missing, and it became clear when he entered” said Del Piero to Sky Sports Italia, while former Milan coach Fabio Capello pointed to another thing in the same show: „There was too much superficiality against Porto. This can’t happen”.
With Derbi Della Madonna coming up on Sunday, Juventus, with Ronaldo at the helm must find their form quickly, if they want to stay alive in the Scudetto title race.
