
Roy Okal switches focus to car dealership side hustle

Roy Okal is using his free time to lay more focus on the family car dealership business.
Sofapaka midfielder Roy Okal is utilising the spare time as a result of the sports suspension in the country to focus on side hustles.
The midfielder who made the switch from Mathare United to Sofapaka at the start of the season is one of the many players who are now laying emphasis on other income-generating projects.
Okal however still conducting individual training at home and following head coach Ken Odhiambo’s program sent every day to the latter.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Okal opened up on the car dealership business he is now focusing on that has branches in Nairobi and Kisumu.
“As a player, you have to have something on the side because you never know anything can happen to your career and during this pandemic, your side hustle might come in handy,”

“I sometimes manage our family business which involves buying and selling cars, business has not been good during his pandemic but we are slowly managing,” said Okal.
The midfielder has quickly become an integral player in Sofapaka squad partnering well with Lawerence Juma at the heart of midfield.
The former Ushuru FC player noted the business is not demanding but revealed he is looking to become an agent after football.
“The business is not that demanding I’m only required in the bazaar when we are making a sale but I drop by sometimes,”
“Aside from that I also want to become an agent after football and I’m planning to start classes because I think there is so much talent in the country that goes to waste,” he added.
