Ogam, who joined the Austrian top-tier club from Tusker FC in early September, noted that the weather has been his greatest challenge.
Astronomical winter officially begins around December 21, but in November, temperatures in Austria are already quite cold, often ranging between 0°C and 8°C.
In many regions, especially southern and alpine areas, frost, snow, and icy winds are common by mid-November.
“Life has been great. I’m still trying to adapt to the weather because it’s really cold, but everything is okay and getting better by the day,” Ogam shared.
The youngster’s move to Europe capped off an impressive spell at Tusker, where he established himself as one of the FKF Premier League’s most prolific forwards, scoring 15 goals in just 17 matches.
His rise was briefly halted by a knee injury early in 2025, but he made a strong comeback, delivering crucial goals for Kenya at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), including match-winning performances against Morocco and Zambia.
Those standout displays earned him Man-of-the-Match honours and comparisons to celebrated striker Michael Olunga.
Wolfsberger AC, who finished fourth in last season’s Austrian Bundesliga playoffs, will be keen to utilise Ogam’s youthful flair and goal-scoring urgency.

Speaking on his experience so far, Ogam noted that the level of professionalism in Austria is on another scale compared to back home.
“What stands out is the structure and professionalism. They have really put their systems together compared to Kenya. We are trying, but the level there is much higher, and that also comes with discipline,” he explained.
Back home with Harambee Stars, Ogam is among the foreign-based contingent currently in camp as they prepare for two international friendlies in Turkey.
Kenya will face Equatorial Guinea on Friday, 14 November at the Emir Complex, before clashing with Senegal four days later on Tuesday, 18 November at the Mardan Stadium.
The team reported to camp on Sunday, 9 November, and will depart for Turkey on Wednesday, 12 November.
Ogam believes the upcoming friendlies will be a perfect opportunity for the squad to fine-tune their preparations.
“We have two good upcoming friendlies to test ourselves as individuals. This is just the first training session, and we will keep working from here. I can say we’re mentally prepared, and all will be well,” he added.
